As God Vishnu has given a green signal to all the weddings of the season, all the brides-to-be can be seen in the midst of frenzied preparation. From sending out invitations, finalizing the outfits and then matching them with jewellery pieces, they are deriving inspiration from either friends or Bollywood. Yes! We just said Bollywood.

We often turn to Bollywood for inspiration of various things, especially when comes to ‘big fat Indian weddings’. Right from how an event décor looks like to the outfits and accessories worn, Bollywood has been extremely successful in establishing its territory in every Indian wedding.

Jewellery plays an extremely important role when it comes to bridal look and no bride wants to look out of trend/style on that day that celebrates her new life. Thus, when we sat down to think about the bridal jewellery inspiration that will enhance our brides-to-be beauty, elegance, glamour and sense of style, we could not think of anything better than our very own Bollywood celebrities.

So here are five of our favourite Bollywood brides who when dolled up for their big day gave us all time jewellery inspiration for wedding looks –

1) Deepika Padukone

Deepika chose to be a jaw dropping traditional Indian bride even when the set up was extremely western i.e Italy. She carried two looks (Konkani and Sindhi) that were poles apart but one thing than took the focus in both the looks was her jewellery.

For the Konkani look, Deepika chose heavy temple jewellery-inspired ornament to pair it up with her Benarasi red-gold saree. The golden dangling jhumkas in jadau pearls and emerald, layers of necklaces a statement mathapatti gave her all the regal and unique look as we all expected.

For the Sindhi look, Deepika wore 22-karat gold and uncut diamond jewellery -- a statement maang tikka, jadau jhumkas, a bridal chuda, simple but massive nath (nose ring) and beautiful golden kalire worn with a gaggle of bangles and rings -- embedded with baroque pearls, emeralds and rubies.

2) Anushka Sharma

Fairy tales do exist and Virushka wedding undoubtedly was one. Anushka chose to wear pink attires and paired it up with ravishing traditional jewellery. A mathapatti, layered necklaces and jhumkas were all adding a unique look to Anushka. The jewellery was handcrafted with syndicate uncut diamonds, pale pink spinel and baroque Japanese cultured pearls. The simple but big nose ring added so much beauty to her overall look. No doubt about the fact that the statement pieces gave us some serious jewellery envy.

3) Sonam Kapoor

Bollywood diva and very applauded for her fashion sense, Sonam tied knot in May this year. Sonam chose to look typical Indian bride with red lehenga and typical jewellery that aligned with her red dulhan look. We spotted layered gold jewellery studded with coloured stones. To add a lot of drama she nailed the golden choker look. The specialists say that earlier, the piece would just cover the neck. Now it’s extending down almost until the start of the neckline of the blouse or dress. Thus, giving you a finished look with only choker. Also, the pearl studded matha Patti of Sonam stole the show.

4) Vidya Balan

Very simple yet elegant is what we say when it comes to Vidya Balan’s bridal look. Decked in intricate gold temple jewellery, Vidya kept her traditional South Indian look intact. She picked up understated yet resplendent neckpieces and paired it up with matching earrings. So, in case you are opting for heavy gold neckpieces we suggest you to go for comparatively light earrings. Must for a simple yet elegant and royal look. You can also be trendy with temple jewellery like pieces of Hindu religious motifs such as peacocks and lamps, which are becoming popular.

5) Dia Mirza

Dia since ages has been an epitome of elegance and the wedding day was no different. Her look was inspired by Mughal era where she wore adornments set with diamond and emerald. She kept it stylish yet traditional with pretty gold jhoomar with strings of tiny pearls interlock pieces of gold framework with filigree studded with diamonds. Also, Pasa complimented her overall look.

We advices our brides to be comfortable with new look be it Muslim, Maharashtrian and Bengali. It will make you look different from daily look and make you a trendsetter in the community.
